Heavy Melting Scrap (HMS)

Heavy Melting Scrap is thick, heavy steel scrap remelted to make new steel. It is graded HMS 1 (cleaner, thicker sections) and HMS 2 (mixed, thinner and galvanised pieces), and is a primary feedstock for induction and electric-arc furnaces.
